Position Summary

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking Jourperson Insulators with IRATA (Rope Access) certification to support our client site at Syncrude in Fort McMurray, AB!

Responsibilities

 

  • Install insulation materials, such as foam, fiberglass, or mineral wool, to prevent heat transfer, reduce energy consumption, or control sound.
  • Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas.
  • Secure insulation in place using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
  • Regularly inspect insulation for signs of wear, damage, or degradation.
  • Replace or repair insulation that has become compromised.
  • Recommend and implement improvements or upgrades to enhance insulation performance.
  • Consult with clients or project managers to determine insulation needs based on factors like temperature requirements, acoustic considerations, or electrical insulation needs.
  • Provide recommendations on the most suitable insulation materials and techniques for different environments.
  • Collaborate with construction or maintenance teams to ensure proper installation according to specifications.
  • Position will be 12 hr shifts on 7/7 rotation 
  • Open to local Fort McMurray candidates and FIFO candidates from Alberta Hubs

Requirements

  • JM Insulator (if Non-Ticketed a summary of hours must be provided)
  • IRATA Level 1 or 2 Rope Access certification

Working Conditions

  • Long-term maintenance work
  • 12 hour shifts at straight time, 14/14 rotations
  • Location: SYNCRUDE
  • Local to Fort McMurray or FIFO from all major city local HUBS
  • Camp Accomodations provided for FIFO candidates 
  • Start Date: ASAP
