Position Summary

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking Level 3 IRATA Technicians to support operations on our newest site located in Kitimat BC.  LNG Canada is nearing completion of the first LNG export facility in Canada and Tacten has been awarded the maintenance contract for this site scheduled to start mid 2024. 

 

  • Position is based in Kitimat BC.
  • Position will be 40 hrs/week and possible overtime
  • Salary range $47.50 to $49.00/hr depending on certifications

 

Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the project’s startup's success by implementing innovative work techniques, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving advancements in our operations.

 

The IRATA Level 3 technician will carry out the following

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Technicians assigned to the crew
  • Review and approve time sheets and Field Level Risk Assessments, addressing deficiencies and providing constructive feedback to technicians
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, training, and skills development to technicians under your supervision
  • Assist in investigating and documenting near misses, safety incidents, and non-conformances
  • Serve as the primary emergency contact 24/7 through cell phone availability
  • Perform necessary services in situations where no other personnel are available for the task

Requirements

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification
  • Journeyman ticket in either Pipefitting or Insulation 
  • minimum 3 years of heavy rigging experience
  • Swagelok certification would be an asset
  • Pipefitters will require a Mechanical background and solid understanding of Hydraulic system pumps etc
  • Insulators will require experience working with cryogenic insulation
  • 1st aid certification and all safety certifications as required within BC
  • located in Kitimat BC or willingness to relocate.

Additionally, preference will be given to the candidates with the following

  • Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
  • Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
  • Previous exposure to working on ship berthing terminals & loading arms
  • Experience in offshore work or tasks conducted over water
  • Background in mechanical operations
