Tacten is seeking a Rope Access Technicians to support our client site at Syncrude in Fort McMurray, AB.

 

As a Rope Access Technician, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety.

Position Information: 

  • Employment Type: Long-term maintenance work and temporary full-time project/shutdown work, with additional opportunities for ongoing and repeat mobilizations based on operational and client requirements. 
  • Site: Syncrude
  • IRATA Level 1, 2 or 3 ticket required, or willingness to obtain
  • Candidates must be local to Fort McMurray, AB or willing to relocate

Requirements

  • IRATA Level 1, 2, or 3 Rope Access Certification required, with candidates placed in roles and responsibilities appropriate to their certification level and demonstrated experience.
  • Journeyperson certification or Registered Apprentice status in Insulating, Welding, Pipefitting, or a related industrial trade is required or considered a strong asset, depending on experience and project needs.
  • Proven experience working in industrial environments, such as oil & gas, construction, or maintenance projects, with an understanding of site conditions and safety expectations.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, supervisors, and co-workers in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety excellence and quality workmanship, with a strong awareness of hazard identification and risk mitigation practices.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical level with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow procedures, adapt to changing job site conditions, and work effectively under pressure in physically demanding environments.

Safety Requirements:

  • CSTS-09 or CSO required.
  • H2S Alive certification required.
  • Confined Space Entry & Monitor certification required.
  • Fall Protection certification considered an asset, with willingness to obtain if required.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to all site-specific and regulatory safety standards.
