Tacten is currently seeking skilled and experienced Industrial Painters to support projects throughout the Atlantic Region.

 

This role is responsible for surface preparation and applying industrial coatings using conventional and airless spray systems, as well as brush and roll techniques. Responsibilities also include operating blasting and coating equipment, with work at heights required on certain projects.

Responsibilities

  • Apply paint using brush and roll, conventional, airless, and plural systems
  • Have knowledge of various painting methods and applications, including mixing paints to desired colors and consistencies
  • Spray coatings with consistent millage
  • Operate blasting pot in case of hose burst, gasket failure, switch malfunction, or other problems
  • Perform painting, caulking, and sealing tasks
  • Inspect surfaces and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Follow the rules of safe conduct at all times
  • Demonstrate safe usage of hand tools and power tools appropriate for the job
  • Identify and handle various materials used in the craft
  • Interpret paint specifications and ensure compliance
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in various methods of surface preparation according to Nace Standards
  • Identify equipment problems and perform cleaning, repairs, and reassembly as required
  • Read specifications and instructions to determine work requirements

  • Proven experience as an Industrial Painter/Blaster
  • Proficiency in applying coatings using conventional and airless spray systems, as well as brush and roll techniques
  • Experience operating blast pots, spray equipment, and related tools
  • Familiarity with surface preparation methods and coating application standards
  • Knowledge of materials used within the trade and proper handling procedures
  • Ability to interpret and follow specifications, procedures, and instructions
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and safe work practices
  • Ability to perform work at heights
  • Willingness and ability to travel for work assignments
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Additional Skills & Assets

  • NACE/CIP (Coating Inspector) or NACE General Coatings certification considered an asset
  • IRATA Rope Access certification and experience considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment issues
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
