Tacten is seeking Rope Access Journeyperson Pipefitter to support the Nova Chemicals Spring 2026 Outage. As a Rope Access Insulator, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for performing high-altitude work with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety. Rotation: 6 days on / 1 day off
Shift Length: 12 hours
LOA: $165/day
Perform rope access pipefitting work in accordance with IRATA standards, Nova site requirements, and Tacten safety procedures.
Install and remove blinds and manways ranging from 1” to 24” to support inspection and maintenance activities.
Perform high-torque and controlled bolting operations, including use of battery-powered RAD guns and hydraulic torque equipment.
Complete piping fabrication tasks, including:
Washing out, prepping, and fitting socket welds
Cutting small-bore piping spools from piperacks
Preparing and fitting small-bore butt joints for welding
Read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and work packages to ensure accurate execution of scope.
Support rigging, lifting, and crane activities, including signaling and load positioning.
Perform piping work in confined spaces and hazardous environments, including work requiring SCBA/SABA where applicable.
Assist with replacement and installation of glycol heat trace tubing as required.
Collaborate with other trades, supervision, and operations to support outage schedules and safe execution.
Maintain accurate records of completed work in accordance with site and project requirements.
Journeyperson Pipefitter certification (JP)
Valid IRATA Rope Access certification or willingness to obtain
Demonstrated experience in industrial turnaround / outage environments
Proven experience with:
Blinding and manway removal/installation
High-torque bolting and controlled bolting procedures
Small-bore piping fabrication
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and isometric drawings
Experience working with cranes, including rigging and signaling
