Position Summary

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking JP Pipefitters with IRATA certification to support operations on our site located in Kitimat BC. 

 

Tacten will be providing the maintenance services utilizing rope access technology and all Pipefitters will be required to obtain IRATA Training and Certification

 

  • Position is based locally in Kitimat BC. relocation is required
  • Immediate Start date
  • Position will be 40 hrs./week and possible overtime
  • Salary range $58.00/hr. depending on certifications
  • We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.
  • Certifications are required with application

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems, including process, utility, and cryogenic lines, according to project specifications and industry standards.

  • Cut, thread, weld, and fit pipe using appropriate tools and techniques to meet quality and safety standards.

  • Inspect piping systems for leaks, corrosion, and structural integrity; perform repairs as needed.

  • Interpret drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with other trades, operations, and engineering teams to support plant operations, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.

  • Comply with all site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and LNG-specific hazardous area requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and inspection reports.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter (JP) certification.

  • IRATA Rope Access certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Current safety certifications as required in BC
  • Industrial piping experience, preferably in LNG or petrochemical facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, fittings, valves, and welding techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Familiarity with CSA, API, and ASME piping codes and standards.

  • Valid safety certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, H2S Alive, and Confined Space Entry.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and hand skills.

Additional Skills

  • Experience working on cryogenic piping systems and LNG facilities.
  • Experience with pipe supports, hangers, and rigging in industrial settings.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging environmental conditions.

  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance management systems and digital work order platforms.

  • Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
  • Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
