JP Insulator with IRATA Rope Access Certification

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking JP Insulators with IRATA certification to support operations on our site located in Kitimat BC. 

LNG Canada is the first LNG export facility in Canada and Tacten has been awarded the maintenance contract for this site. 

Tacten will be providing the maintenance services utilizing rope access technology and all Insulators will be required to obtain IRATA Training and Certification

• Position is based locally in Kitimat BC.
• Immediate Start date
• Position will be 40 hrs./week and possible overtime
• Salary range $58.00/hr. depending on certifications
• We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.
• Certifications are required with application

• Install, remove, and maintain insulation materials on piping, vessels, tanks, and equipment in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.

• Apply various insulation materials, including fiberglass, foam, refractory, and reflective insulation, to meet thermal and acoustic requirements.

• Inspect insulation systems for damage, deterioration, or compliance issues and perform repairs as necessary.

• Work with scaffolding, rope access, and other safe work platforms to access elevated or confined areas.

• Collaborate with other trades, operations, and engineering teams during plant shutdowns, commissioning, and maintenance activities.

• Follow all site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and hazardous area requirements specific to LNG operations.

• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including inspection reports and material usage logs.

• JM Insulator (if Non-Ticketed a summary of hours must be provided)
• IRATA Rope Access certification or willingness to obtain

• Industrial insulation experience, preferably in LNG or petrochemical facilities.

• Knowledge of thermal, cryogenic, and acoustic insulation systems and materials.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and insulation specifications.

• Familiarity with CSA, API, and industrial insulation standards.

• Strong hand skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in physically demanding environments.

Additional Skills

• Experience working on cryogenic and LNG process equipment.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying environmental conditions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with industrial maintenance management systems or digital work order platforms.
• Understanding of thermal bridging, insulation thickness calculations, and heat loss mitigation.
• Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
• Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
• Background in mechanical operations
