Tacten is seeking a Long-Term Maintenance Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator to support Imperial Oil Strathcona. In this role, you will be an integral member of our team, performing high-angle work with precision, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

Rotation: Monday to Friday
Shift Length: 8.6 hours/day (straight time)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 8.6 hours/day
Start Date: ASAP

This role follows the Imperial Oil Strathcona Earned Day Off (EDO) Program, where employees work an additional 0.6 hours each day to accumulate one earned day off every two weeks, typically scheduled on Fridays.
Minimum base rate: $47.16/hour (Prairies Region)
IRATA premium applies for Levels 1, 2, and 3
Overtime paid at 1.5x after 8.6 hours/day
The Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator will:
Perform insulation removal and reinstallation
Support inspection activities
Complete steam trace repairs as required
Work at heights to safely execute high-angle tasks while maintaining the integrity and efficiency of insulated systems
Remove and reinstall insulation materials such as fiberglass, mineral wool, or foam to maintain system efficiency and safety.
Measure, cut, and secure insulation to fit pipes, vessels, and equipment using approved fasteners and adhesives.
Perform inspections and support inspection teams by exposing and re-covering insulated systems as required.
Identify and repair or replace damaged or degraded insulation to maintain performance and compliance.
Complete steam trace repairs and ensure insulated systems meet operational and safety standards.
Collaborate with maintenance and inspection teams to ensure work is completed efficiently and to project specifications.
Maintain a strong commitment to safety while performing high-angle and rope access tasks.
Trade & Rope Access:
IRATA Level 1 certification (minimum) or willingness to obtain
IRATA Level 2 and 3 candidates are also encouraged to apply
Comfortable and experienced working at heights
Physically fit and capable of performing high-angle work safely
Safety Certifications:
CSTS-2020 or ESC CSO
ESC Confined Space Entry & Monitor (CSE/M)
ESC Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
ESC H2S Alive
