Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking Rope Access Journeyperson Electrician to support operations on our newest site located in Kitimat BC.  LNG Canada is nearing completion of the first LNG export facility in Canada and Tacten has been awarded the maintenance contract for this site scheduled to start mid 2024.

  • Position is based locally in Kitimat BC
  • Immediate start date
  • Position will be 40 hrs/week and possible overtime
  • Rate is up to $49.00/hr depending on certifications 
  • Candidates are required to be local and/or surrounding area or willing to relocate to become local to Kitimat 

Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the project’s startup's success by implementing innovative work techniques, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving advancements in our operations.

 

Working at heights you will be responsible for tasks such as 

  • Set up and maintaining electrical systems where required
  • Installing and connecting electrical components such as motors, transformers, control panels, and other equipment necessary for industrial operations
  • Identify issues, replace faulty components, and to ensure that all machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician Trade certification 
  • IRATA Level 1 or 2 certification or a willingness to obtain assitance with training can be provided
  • Cable pulling, splicing, trouble shooting, heat trace experince.
  • V deck training would be an asset
  • Proxy switch and LEL sensory experince would be preferred
  • Current safety certifications as required by client and provincial BC standards
  • located in Kitimat BC or willing to relocate

Additionally, preference will be given to the candidates with the following

  • Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
  • Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
